When I retired from my consulting business, I had no intention of going back to work. But my resolution lasted about two weeks, after which I decided that retirement was far too boring for me, and plunged right back into work. With my wife Maja working as an interior designer and professional home stager, and my decades of experience in management, sales and marketing, I decided to leverage my expertise and start a elite real estate team. I work at Coldwell Banker Realty, leading a team that includes my wife Maja, as designer and stager, and our two children Benjamin and Madeline as Realtors®. Together we form a well-orchestrated team that serves clients throughout the Southeast Valley of Phoenix Arizona. As a former military officer, I am extremely organized and methodical—traits that have already earned me plenty of repeat and referral clients. And it’s also my attitude towards service that has made me so successful in a relatively short amount of time. I’m very focused on what my clients need. I have brought the same attitude that made me successful in the corporate world into my real estate work. And that includes a high attention to detail and always following up with clients. I brief my clients routinely and treat them as if they are my CEO.
When it comes to marketing, I take the comprehensive approach. I focus on social media for digital marketing, but also invest in more old-fashioned print marketing in order to cover all the bases. I am also big on professional photography and videography to showcase my listings in the best light.
The real estate process can be overwhelming for many, and I make sure to keep that in mind and help put my clients at ease. I can speak to different people from various walks of life and make them feel comfortable. People are extremely vulnerable during the process of buying or selling a house. They are very trusting, and they can be taken advantage of. When my clients deal with me, I want them to know that they can trust me.
My favorite part of my job is the ability to arrange a great transaction for my clients. I love the negotiation and transaction process. I enjoy listening to what clients need and then helping them find their dream home. I especially love working with first-time homebuyers and sharing in their excitement of buying their first home. I have a SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist) designation and work with a lot of seniors.
When I am not working, I love riding motorcycles with my kids, and spending time relaxing with family and friends. Going forward I want to continue building my business and growing my network of clients. It’s also imperative for me to be a mentor to my kids, so that they can carry on working with the same high standard of ethics my wife and I believe in. We are always interested in doing the right thing. We try to live by the wise words of Marcus Aurelius, ‘We do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do.’”

Maja Ferguson – Interior Designer, Accredited Stager
Maja is an interior designer and accredited professional stager who has specialized in Home Staging® since 2006. She is an expert in taking a personalized and finished interior environment (home) and returning it to a sellable product by staging® the property (house). This process generally results in higher financial returns with minimum time on the Arizona housing market.
Maja and Rick work together with their clients to maximize market opportunities, as every home listed receives a free staging consultation from Maja.
Madeline Ferguson, Realtor
Currently, I am a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps on active duty. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Arizona. At the university, I was a member of the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps. My experiences in engineering and the NROTC have taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and the value of people. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, our world was turned upside down. The pandemic has shown that the time we spend with our loved ones is precious. My decision to become a Realtor® stems from this understanding. I saw my father’s real estate practice was growing exponentially, and I decided to join him. I wanted to help people discover the home of their dreams where they are free and able to spend their time with friends and family.
Benjamin Ferguson, Realtor
Benjamin J. Ferguson was first introduced to the real estate world by his mother, a successful designer. At a young age, he would help his mom with design choices and finding current and upcoming trends which inspired him to find his own creative outlet, dance.
Benjamin graduated from The University of Arizona and attained a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance. As a dancer, he has learned to be dedicated, passionate, and meticulous in all of the work he does. These ideals have pushed Benjamin to constantly strive for the best.
